Duburring

The Deburring Machine is designed for removing burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections generated during cutting, punching, machining, and fabrication processes. The machine delivers precise and efficient deburring treatment while maintaining dimensional accuracy and improving workpiece quality.

By integrating advanced abrasive and brushing technology, the equipment provides consistent surface finishing and prepares materials for subsequent operations such as welding, coating, painting, and assembly.

The machine is suitable for automated industrial production and continuous processing applications.

1. What is deburring ?

During machining, no matter how advanced and sophisticated the equipment is, parts will have burrs. Burrs are extra metal bits that form on the edge of machined materials. They happen when something squishes the material, especially if it is flexible or tough.

Burrs not only affect the appearance of the parts but also reduce the function and safety of the parts. Deburring is important in machining because metal parts undergo various steps like cutting, stamping, and milling during manufacturing. These processes shape machined parts, but leave small metal burrs on the surface. Drilling, engraving, turning, and other machining processes can also leave burrs on the metal surface.

Our deburring machines utilize abrasive belts of varying grit sizes to handle diverse burr types and metal alloys with precision. For softer alloys, we recommend using finer grit belts, while coarser grits are ideal for tougher alloys like steel. If you’re focused on edge finishing, our edge rounding machines provide an excellent solution.

Beside deburring, Bonray deburring machines offer multi-process capabilities, including chamfering and surface finishing, giving your products smooth and uniform surfaces. With six automated deburring solutions, our machines deliver consistent, high-precision results, eliminating dependency on operator skill level.

2. Sandblets Features:

Featuring a wide-belt configuration with the mechanism arranged longitudinally, the system utilizes lifting and belt-oscillation mechanisms; it enables the easy, high-precision processing of workpiece surfaces—such as creating a brushed finish and removing rigid burrs from punched or hemmed edges.

3. Combinations and pairings

4. Three Main Types of Burrs:

Flip burrs:

Flip burrs are the most common type of burrs, and they look like small curled pieces of metal sticking out of the workpiece.

—Poisson burrs:

Poisson burrs occur when the edge of the workpiece is stretched too much laterally.

—Separation burrs:

Separation burrs have the characteristic of protruding upward and seem to be separated from the workpiece.

5. The importance of deburring:

1. To avoid issues with positioning and tightening mechanical parts, reduce scrap rates, and decrease the risk for installers. You can achieve this by preventing burrs. Burrs can negatively impact the functionality of mechanical parts. Lowering the presence of burrs can improve overall efficiency and safety.

2. Avoid burrs to prevent data errors and enhance product quality and lifespan.

3. Eliminate wear and failure caused by the presence or fall of burrs during the use of mechanical parts.

4. Smooth mechanical parts without any rough edges will allow the paint to stick better. This will create a consistent texture and a pleasing look. Additionally, the paint will be more durable and provide a strong coating.

5. Mechanical parts with burrs are prone to cracks during heat treatment, which reduces the fatigue strength of parts. You cannot ignore deburring parts that bear loads or run at high speeds.

Of course, you can reduce the generation of burrs as much as possible. Advanced laser-cutting machines can process sheet metal parts with fewer burrs. Careful stamping can help reduce burrs on parts and minimize the need for grinding consumables in deburring machines.

There is no doubt that perfect sheet metal manufacturing is the basic guarantee for improving competitiveness and reliability. To satisfy customers, think about the cost, efficiency, and quality of deburring. Decide if you should buy good deburring equipment. Sheet metal processing companies are increasingly incorporating deburring and chamfering into their parts processing process, whether through manual operation or mechanical processing.
